ASOS, Barbour, and British artist Jimmy Turrell have come together for a one-of-a-kind partnership that reimagines the iconic Barbour Bedale jacket through contemporary fashion and art. Available exclusively at ASOS, the Barbour Re-loved x ASOS: Jimmy Turrell Edition capsule comprises ten entirely unique jackets, each designed to exist as a wearable piece of art.
From 12pm on Wednesday 26 August, ASOS.WORLD customers will be given exclusive access to shop one of the jackets before anyone else, with a further eight jackets released to all UK customers from Thursday 27 August.
In partnership with Centrepoint, the tenth jacket will be available to win via a raffle hosted through the charity’s website, with all proceeds supporting its work to help young people facing homelessness and further its commitment to ending youth homelessness by 2037. The raffle forms part of the ASOS Foundation’s decade-long partnership with Centrepoint, which has so far raised more than £2.5 million in financial support.
The ten unique jackets, originating from Barbour’s Re-loved programme, are centred around the iconic Bedale style, first introduced by Dame Margaret Barbour for equestrian life in 1980, but now a seasonal staple in town and country alike. Inside each jacket, Barbour's iconic tartan lining provides a distinctive nod to the brand's heritage and design codes. A longstanding symbol of British craftsmanship, it offers a familiar contrast to the contemporary artistic reworking of each piece. From there, ASOS’s in-house design team has reworked the silhouettes through a modern fashion lens, introducing a play on proportions and details including a cinched jacket and intricate hand-embellishment. These reimagined designs form the final canvas for Jimmy Turrell’s hand-drawn graphic artwork.
North East artist Jimmy Turrell, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, a stone’s throw away from where the Barbour brand began in 1894 – and where the head office still remains – in South Shields Marketplace, who combines a love of handmade collage, drawing, screen-printing and painting alongside digital techniques, has transformed each of the designs into expressive, one-of-a-kind pieces that sit at the intersection of fashion, art, and cultural discovery. No two jackets are the same, with each reflecting the artist’s distinctive visual language and approach to storytelling.
Vanessa Spence, EVP Brand & Creative at ASOS, said: Our partnership with Barbour is one we’re incredibly proud of, and the result of a long-standing relationship built on a shared appreciation for British style, creativity and great product. Reimagining the iconic Bedale jacket in this way marks a genuine first for ASOS, and speaks to what we do best: taking classic pieces and making them feel fresh, relevant and fashion-forward. With Jimmy Turrell’s bold visual storytelling bringing each jacket to life, the collection sits at the intersection of heritage, contemporary design and culture, and gives our customers access to something truly rare, creative and exclusive to ASOS.
Nicola Brown, Director of Womenswear, Barbour said: By combining the heritage of Barbour Re-loved with ASOS's modern design perspective, we've created a collection of wearable artworks that celebrate individuality and British creativity. The partnership highlights the potential for clothing and loved fashion to live on in different forms, transforming iconic jackets into one-of-a-kind pieces that are designed to be treasured for years to come.
Graphic artist and video director Jimmy Turrell reflected: Growing up in the North East, Barbour has always been part of the landscape, so getting the chance to work with these jackets that ASOS have reimagined felt really special. I approached each one as an individual artwork, layering collage, print, drawing and paint while allowing traces of its previous life to remain visible. I love working with things that already have a history, and the fact that no two jackets are the same is really at the heart of the project.
Barbour Re-loved x ASOS: Jimmy Turrell Edition will be available exclusively at ASOS from Wednesday 26 August, with one jacket released exclusively to ASOS.WORLD customers, a further eight launching for all UK customers from Thursday 27 August, and the final piece available via a Centrepoint raffle from Friday 28 August.

About Barbour
The Barbour story began in 1894 when founder John Barbour established himself in the burgeoning port of South Shields in the North East of England supplying oilskins and other garments to protect the growing community of fishermen, sailors and mariners from the worst of the British weather. Today, Barbour offers a complete wardrobe of clothes, accessories and footwear for men, women and children. Shirts, knitwear, trousers, dresses, footwear and accessories are now just as much in demand as Barbour’s iconic outerwear.
A family-owned 5th generation brand established over 130 years ago, Barbour is a global success story sold in over 55 countries worldwide including Germany, Italy, Spain, France, the US and Japan. In 2020, Barbour launched Wax for Life, an overarching name for all of Barbour’s wax services designed to encourage customers to extend the life of their jackets. Wax for Life includes Re-waxing and Repairs first introduced in 1921 and Re-Loved, an upcycling circularity initiative whereby customers can return their wax jackets in exchange for a voucher. Saved from disposal, each jacket begins a new life as a cleaned and repaired bespoke jacket or a new creation, such as a bag.
In October 2024, Barbour introduced Quilt for Life, enabling cleaning and repairs to be carried out on Barbour quilted jackets. In December 2024, Chairman Dame Margaret Barbour was honoured by the British Fashion Council with a Special Recognition Award for her contribution to fashion.
About Barbour Re-loved
First introduced in 2019, Barbour Re-loved is a circularity initiative designed to encourage customers to extend the life of their Barbour jackets. Customers who no longer need their jackets can return them to Barbour in exchange for a voucher. The skilled and expert craftsmen and women in the Barbour factory then lovingly clean, repair and rewax each jacket, ready to go to a new home and continue the life of the jacket. Barbour Re-loved is part of Wax for Life, the overarching programme for Barbour’s wax services, including re-waxing, repairs, and customisation.
