September's Womenswear Heart marks our step into Autumn/Winter and celebrates a new era of powerful women. It's about ripping up the rule book with confidence and taking traditional menswear-inspired dressing in a fresh direction.
As a reminder, the Heart is our monthly customer-facing edit across Womenswear and Menswear, showcasing the best of Own Brand and Partner Brands. It brings together fit, price and fashion in a curated way and plays a key role in driving our Quality, Value and Style strategy.
So, what is this month's theme all about?
Our team have been calling this theme ‘The Big League’ as it’s inspired by the unapologetic power dressing of the 1980s. It's a modern take on boardroom style, reworking classic menswear codes through a feminine lens. Think sharp tailoring, exaggerated shoulders, statement accessories and elevated wardrobe staples designed for a new generation of powerful women.
It’s polished, powerful and designed to make an impact.
Where did the inspiration for this collection come from? Were there any key cultural moments?
We looked to 1980s power dressing, taking inspiration from icons ranging from Princess Diana to Madonna. It's that confident yuppie aesthetic, reimagined for today, with an undercurrent of off-duty athleisure running through the collection.
The result balances structure and sophistication with a more relaxed attitude, creating a wardrobe that feels both powerful and wearable.

And finally, what do you love about this month's trend?
I love the confidence of this trend. It's unapologetically bold, embracing everything that's great about 80s power dressing while still feeling modern.
I'm also loving the unexpected accessories. Boardroom staples like tie pins, cufflinks and driving gloves add personality to the look and make the styling feel fresh and exciting again.
