Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of hosting our scaleUP Demo Day, celebrating the programme's completion in collaboration with Fashion Minority Report. This event featured the second cohort of the programme supporting global majority owned brands scale up their businesses.
Reign Studio, ByGraceAmbrose and Sondor have spent the past year working with ASOS and Fashion Minority Report, engaging in various workshops and mentoring to further build their brands. Highlights have included ASOS Buying and Merch providing guidance on product ranges and critical pathway, the brands pitching for funding to myself and Shazmeen Malik, and GUAP's involvement in the launch of the programme. Taking all these learnings, their final collections were presented and judged on the day.
I'm delighted to announce the winners following a review of the final collections:
- 1st place: Reign Studio, receiving a £20,000 prize to support their business and an onboarding to the site (look out for their swimwear collection later this year!).
- 2nd place: Sondor, receiving a £10,000 prize.
- 3rd place: ByGraceAmbrose, receiving a £5,000 prize.
A big thank you to all of the teams involved in making this programme a success, sharing your insights and for putting on a fabulous event showcasing the up-and-coming talent within the fashion industry. I am excited to see these brands continue to thrive beyond our programme and to support future initiatives like this as part of ASOS Supports, our long-term commitment to nurturing the next generation of fashion.
