Last month, we welcomed young people from (Fashion) Minority Report’s Business of Building Brands programme to our London headquarters, for a unique insight into life in the fashion industry and the range of jobs and pathways available.
Here’s what we got up to:
Studios Tour: Sophia and Samuel gave us a tour of Studios, seeing behind the scenes of how shoots and styling come together.
Design Challenge: Sarah provided an insight into the life of a Designer. The young people were tasked with designing a garment using a trend pack and fabrics to inspire their creations.
CV Skills Workshop: The Talent Acquisition team hosted a session sharing all the essentials for creating a CV, helping young people know how they can effectively present themselves to potential employers.
Career Panel Talk: We were joined by Claire and Holly, hosted by Sunita, talking about their career journey and insights. The panellists provided tips and guidance to young people to show the different journeys, opportunities and routes into the industry.
We’re proud to be working in partnership with FMR to deliver the Business of Building Brands programme. Designed for 16-25 year olds from underrepresented backgrounds, it aims to break down barriers and open doors, giving young people the opportunity to gain the insight, skills and confidence they need to thrive in fashion.
It was an incredibly insightful, valuable day for all involved. A huge thank you to the young people for being inquisitive and passionate and thank you to the volunteers who took the time to support with the day!
